Dr. Caroline Le Poole obtained a Master’s degree in Biology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and a Ph.D. in Medicine from Amsterdam University, before coming to the University of Cincinnati (OH). In 1999, Dr. Le Poole moved to Loyola University Chicago where she is currently a tenured Professor of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology as part of the Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy program in the Oncology Research Institute in Maywood, IL. Immune recognition of melanoma-associated antigens is a primary research focus of the Le Poole lab, aiming to develop immunotherapeutics for benign and malignant disease. Current research addresses vitiligo, melanoma, lymphangioleiomyomatosis and tuberous sclerosis complex.
