UW Department of Dermatology Ranks #11 for NIH funding for U.S. Medical School Dermatology Departments
A recent report from the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research showed that, compared to all Medical Schools in the U.S. with Dermatology Departments, the UW-Madison Department of Dermatology ranked #11 nationally (out of 34 institutions) in receiving funding from the National Institutes of Health for 2013. The UW Department of Dermatology received $2,185,990 in NIH funding for 2013 (out of a total awarded amount of $61,402,753).
In the timeframe surveyed, 4 members received NIH funding: Hasan Mukhtar (Ph.D.), Nihal Ahmad (Ph.D.), Vijay Setaluri (Ph.D.) and Vladimir Spiegelman (Ph.D.). Two of these faculty ranked in the top 20 recipients for Dermatology.
