
New research is under way in the lab of Department Chair Dr. Gary S. Wood, MD, after he was awarded a $200,000 grant from the Spatz Foundation. The award was announced last fall with research beginning in January 2018.
Dr. Wood’s project topic is “Small molecule screen for c-CBL blocade and FAS-ligand up-regulation in CTCL.” Dr. Wood is an accomplished researcher in Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma and cares for patients with CTCL in a dedicated clinic at UWHealth’s clinic on Junction Road in Madison.
The Drs. Martin and Dorothy Spatz Foundation is a private foundation based in California dedicated to research that leads to increased understanding and treatment of cancers including Cutaneous T Cell Lymphomas.
