We are very excited to announce that Charlotte LaSenna, MD, will be joining our team of dermatopathologists in early August 2021. Dr. LaSenna graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Cleveland Clinic, where she is currently doing a Dermatopathology Fellowship. Dr. LaSenna has specializes in hair disorders, bringing much-needed expertise in this area to the state of Wisconsin.
Dr. LaSenna’s addition to our faculty crowns a year-long recruitment effort that has brought four brilliant new physicians into our practice; in addition to Dr. LaSenna, we recently welcomed Drs. Mackenzie Asel, Ashley Privalle, and Bridget Shields to the UW-Madison Department of Dermatology:
Mackenzie Asel, MD, who completed medical school at Washington University, residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and a Fellowship in Complex Medical Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, joined UW Dermatology on April 1, 2020. Dr. Asel specializes in complex medical dermatology with a focus on the dermatologic side-effects of cancer treatment and is a member of our inpatient Dermatology Consult Service.
Ashley Privalle, MD, is a graduate of the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, completed her residency at Mayo Clinic, and joined our department on July 1, 2020. Dr. Privalle is a general dermatologist with a clinical and academic interest in quality improvement for patient care.
Bridget Shields, MD, graduated from the University of Iowa Carter College of Medicine, completed her residency here at the UW-Madison Department of Dermatology, and joined our faculty on Sept 1, 2020, after completing a Medical Dermatology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shields has an interest in the dermatologic effects of systemic diseases, including metabolic and autoimmune diseases. She is also a member of our inpatient Dermatology Consult Service.
