*What do you enjoy about living in Madison?

quotation mark
What I enjoy most about living in Madison is that it offers a great mix of city life and access to the outdoors. Coming from Minnesota, being close to the water was important to me, and I really enjoy having the lakes right here in the city and all of the opportunities for outdoor activities that come with them. I also love how walkable downtown Madison is, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do, while still having a strong sense of community. At the same time, it’s easy to get outside and enjoy nature, whether that’s walking around the lakes, biking, or exploring the surrounding areas. I also really value Madison’s close proximity to Chicago, which makes it easy to go down for a bigger concert, sporting event, or a quick weekend getaway. Overall, I think Madison is a great balance for me — there’s plenty to do and enjoy in the city, but it’s also easy to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

*What do you like best about doing your dermatology training at the University of Wisconsin?

quotation mark
One thing that really stands out to me about training at the University of Wisconsin is the close-knit and supportive community. I’ve really grown to appreciate how approachable the faculty are and the strong sense of camaraderie among the residents and faculty. I also really value the breadth of training offered here at UW — between the numerous specialty and continuity clinics, VA clinic, pediatrics, and strong emphasis on surgical training early on, we have the opportunity to see a wide range of patients and develop confidence across many areas of dermatology. I think the combination of diverse clinical experiences and a supportive group of faculty and co-residents is what makes UW such a special place to train.
