Why did you select the University of Wisconsin Dermatology Residency for your training?
When looking at programs, I knew I wanted a program that felt like a family to me and Madison offered just that. The residents were amazing and you could clearly see how close they were to one another. When it came to the faculty, it was clear that they truly cared about the wellbeing and the success of their resident learners and went above and beyond in getting to know their mentees. I could not be more honest when saying that I have never experienced such exemplary mentorship than I had within this department. I knew that I wanted to train in a place that fosters such a family feel all the while having fun and pushing one another to achieve their best potentials. Madison has been my home for so many years now and I was very hopeful to continue my time here. It is safe to say that I am a “Badger Lifer” and I would not want it any other way!
What are some of your favorite activities to do in the Madison area?
Madison is truly the best city to live and work. There are endless opportunities for adventures and fun, so it is difficult to condense it all down! My favorite activities right now are taking my puppy, Maggie, to the many different dog parks and watching her outrun all her puppy friends, trying the endless delicious restaurants, golfing the many beautiful courses, being herded around the Capitol like cows during the farmer’s market and ending with a spicy cheesy bread. My husband and I love being outdoors and taking full advantage of the outstanding lakes with their endless paddle boarding and kayaking opportunities as well!
